Silver Springs is probably the only band in the world that was founded in Los Angeles and played its first show in Liberec. It took them almost two years. Since the spring of 2015, they managed to go on hiatus for a year, change half of the lineup and move from the US to the Czech Republic - with the youngest member of the band being only 20 years old.
Even though Silver Springs might attract some buzz by their background, they plan to get real attention with their new EP that is planned to be released in Feb/Mar through an independent music label NO GO. The first single Shelter Love is out now.
The band is proud of their transatlantic roots in alternative and indie rock; they aren’t shy of simple compositions and catchy choruses. The main emphasis is put on energy, while straying away from the label of a generic guitar band. Two founding members, frontman Niko Jalauzidis and guitarist Elijah Cooper mention bands like Foo Fighters, Kings of Leon or Bon Iver as their influences. Where others focus on image, Silver Springs focus on melodic hooks.
The mission is clear: enlighten the damp melancholy of Prague’s alternative scene with some Californian sunshine.

Silver Springs jsou nejspíš jedinou kapelou na světě, která se dala dohromady v Los Angeles a první koncert odehrála v Liberci. Trvalo jim to necelé dva roky. Od jara 2015 se stihli na rok rozpadnout, změnit polovinu rozestavení a přesunout se z USA do České republiky – a to je nejmladšímu členovi teprve 20 let.
Přestože Silver Springs na první pohled přitahují svým původem, skutečnou pozornost si chtějí vydobýt až připravovaným novým EP. Datum vydání u nezávislého labelu NO GO je naplánováno na
přelom února a března, první singl Shelter Love vychází právě teď.
Kapela se otevřeně hlásí k zámořské tradici alternativního a indie rocku; neštítí se jednoduchých kompozic a zpěvných refrénů, primární důraz klade na energii, ale zároveň odmítá nálepku klasické "patkaté" kytarové tancovačky. Dva zakládající členové, frontman Niko Jalauzidis a kytarista Elijah Cooper, ostatně za svoje vzory označují třeba Foo Fighters, Kings of Leon, ale i Bon Iver. Kde jiní kladou důraz na image, chtějí Silver Springs v první řadě zapustit melodické háčky.
Cíl mise je jasný: Oživit sychravou melancholii pražské alternativní scény trochou kalifornského slunce.
